Nikhat,
Thank you for the reply and information. The guidelines are misleading, but it makes sense as you point out for inventory efficiency.

Subject: Walmart RFID tag requirement for eCommerce item only
Hey Anthony,
Even if it is a seasonal product, it is important to have RFID to understand the stock in the Wallmart's Fulfillment Center, in case the products gets exhausted or becomes less it is important to have. The RFID system can then trigger an automated restock request. It also helps in doing analysis for sales.
To avoid stockouts and provide efficiency in eCommerce Management especially during high requirement periods like Black Friday, it will be helpful.
Hope this helps

Subject: Walmart RFID tag requirement for eCommerce item only
I am working on a holiday promotion for Walmart, and am hoping my fellow packaging engineers can answer definitively yes or no.The Walmart Secondary Packaging Supply Chain Standards dated 3/5/25 seems to have conflicting information. When selling a product to Walmart that is eCommerce only, are RFID tags required? The proposed product will only ship into the WFS (Walmart Fulfillment Center) part of their supply chain. This is a seasonal item for Black Friday only. It will never be in-store. Walmart will ship to their eCommerce customers from the WFS. Some members of our team say yes because all seasonal items require RFID.
Thank you for your help.
