    Rochester Institute of Technology Packaging Career Fair

    The RIT Packaging Career Fair offers students and employers a forum to meet and discuss the packaging field and career opportunities. Students can network with companies and learn about co-ops and full-time opportunities. At the same time, e mployers have the opportunity to present their company and meet students in the packaging science program who are looking for co-op and full-time job opportunities. This event draws about 25 companies and 115 packaging students to the annual fair. Those interested in packaging careers should also visit the IoPP Career Center to search for or post jobs!

    48-Hour RePack Student Design Competition

    Feb 3 - 5, (ET)
    The Institute of Packaging Professionals Southeastern Chapter created the Repack Student Design Competition as a forum to highlight the skill and talents of tomorrow’s packaging professionals. The 14th annual 48HR Repack Student Design Competition begins Friday, February 3 at 7 PM EST and ends on Sunday, February 5 at 7 PM EST. The goal is to expose students from different schools and disciplines to the $917 Billion packaging industry. Student competitors have been introduced to competition sponsors and industry partners—many receiving jobs and internships directly. This competition encourages students to consider the responsible use of materials while improving the packaging functionality and practicality. Scholarships are available to students who win first, second and third place. First place: $3,000 Second place: $2,000 Third place: $1,000

    IoPP Fundamentals of Medical Device Packaging Course

    Our newest course, developed in conjunction with the IoPP  Medical Device Packaging Technical Committee , introduces you to the requirements of medical device packaging. This course consists of three half-day sessions and occurs at MD&M West in Anaheim. The curriculum includes classroom instruction, in-depth discussions, and demonstrations at participating exhibitor booths of machinery used to create medical device packaging. Not technical? No problem. This course is designed for those new to packaging or medical device packaging. It can bring you up to speed on the essential knowledge needed to understand this complex packaging industry segment! What topics are covered? Materials used for sterile barrier packaging Designing sterile barrier systems Manufacturing packaging for sterile medical devices Qualifying equipment and validating processes Sterilization of medical devices for packaging engineers Regulations, standards, and quality systems for medical device packaging Risk analysis and design assurance CAPA, troubleshooting, and remediation strategies Who should attend? Anyone new to medical device packaging and in need of a broad introduction. Managers who want a wider view of medical device packaging.
