    Posted 05-22-2023 05:18 PM

Hi All,  I just wanted to make you aware that I'll be giving a webinar this Thursday, May 25th, for IoPP.  The information below is copied from the IoPP newsletter, in case you haven't seen it.  The time will be 3:00 pm Eastern, or noon my time on the west coast.  I'll be showing lots of examples of how packaging engineers can extend their influence to various parts of an organization to achieve far greater contributions to the bottom line. The webinar is scheduled for an hour and there'll be time at the end for questions.  There are already 125 people signed up, but we'd be happy to have many more!

    • May 25: Packaging Savings Beyond Packaging Materials | In this Premium webinar, you'll hear about the best ways to minimize product landed costs from Kevin Howard, owner of Packnomics LLC. You'll get insight into the silo effect - the product of poor communication of goals between departments - and learn why packaging engineers are uniquely positioned to contribute to these discussions significantly. Register today and get ready to start maximizing your savings beyond packaging materials. IoPP Premium and Elite members can attend this webinar for free, and Regular IoPP members pay $99. This webinar is not available to IoPP Affiliates or nonmembers.

Thanks Tim for the kind comments.  For those of you who are interested, the presentation was recorded by IoPP and is now in their library for viewing.  I think you need to be either Premier or Elite membership to view the library.  I showed many examples of how companies reduced their landed costs of products by looking at every aspect of their supply chain, from inbound components to final product delivery.  The presentation highlights the key role packaging engineering can play in bringing together the various work silos found in organizations.  Though no one wants to be told how to do their jobs, packaging can bring to management's attention the unintended cost consequences for component design, product design, marketing initiatives, supply chain decisions, and testing methods.
