Amy Peterson (UMass Lowell Plastics Engineering) is putting together a team for the recent BioNexus call (BioNexus: Massachusetts Biotechnology & Biomanufacturing Program | NEMC) on the topic of Novel bio-protection systems to enhance the safety, shelf-life and resilience of military rations in austere operational environments. She is interested in partnering with industry given the desired TRL/MRL of 7 by the end of the project. Particular technologies of interest:
- Antimicrobial coatings or other solutions for inhibiting pathogen growth for retort applications
- Smart sensing for food packaging
