We use '5' based on our supply chain process and the environmental/transportation hazards potentially encountered by our products.
The majority of our products are sourced off-shore, so products are exposed to humidity, shifting (due to being floor-loaded), vibration, etc.

I'd like to hear from you which safety factor you're applying on the Box Compression Test strength for allowing / not allowing double stacking during global transportation (likely sea freight in containers ) ?
I've been using safety factor of 3 in the chemical industry.
I hear about using safety factor of 5 in the pharma industry.
What are you doing in your respective industry ?
