  • 1.  LSR Molding > why are there fewer places to do this type of molding in the US.

    We at Beacon MedTech Solutions (MA) have had an exponential surge in requests for LSR molding and not sure what is happening in the industry? Sure there are other companies that offer this especially in very short runs, but why the sudden demand? I think there may be a trend here for certain applications (medical device, medical components etc.) and would like the perspectives from fellow IoPP members of what they are seeing and why...thank you! May be good insights for our MDPTC team ...

    Hi Evan- That may be part of it as we have had those types of requests for our mfg processes and well suited for that. I appreciate the feedback and also there seems to be more to it than just that. I am suspecting simply less mfgers are remaining in this segment to provide this service and we are one of the few. The hope in the Medical Device area as it is exponentially growing to be able to continue to mfg from a trusted source here in the USA with Re-shoring occurring. Perhaps may be some global challenges with precision part quality as well? Hopefully some of the members of the Medical Device Packaging Technical Committee may have some insights?
