  • 1.  Looking for environmental chamber test standard for capped bottle

    Posted 09-08-2022 11:13 AM

I want to use an environmental chamber to observe transportation related temperature and pressure effects on a capped 4-liter plastic bottle.  Is there a test standard (ASTM or other) that provides guidance on the time duration for something like this?

    Thanks for your support

    Hi Greg,

We have developed some custom test plans for an application like this before.  It did reference some ASTM standards but we combined a few.  I can share what we did via email if interested.

You can shoot me an email at srosenblum@pkgcompliance.com

    Thanks!

    Hello Greg,

Are you talking about just climatic stressing of the bottles with product inside?  A 4L bottle; is this a carbonated soft drink PET bottle?  We have small pressure/temp datarecorder/gages that can fit into a bottle and we can run ASTM F2825 Standard Practice for Climatic Stressing of Packaging Systems for Single Parcel Delivery, which is environmental conditioning to stress the packages separate from distribution simulation testing, so the standard is a stand-alone standard. With the pressure datarecorder we can measure the pressure change inside the package as the test is performed.  we can also customize test a test plan to achieve the test objectives you are looking for.  Please email (matt@pt-innovation.com) or call me (914-552-4386) to discuss.

    thanks,
    Matt
