For the past 19 years, I've maintained packagingcalculator.com as a free resource for the packaging community - unit conversions, box compression strength (McKee), gas transmission rates, density/fill weight, and pallet pattern generation, among other daily-use tools.
I recently rebuilt that toolkit as a mobile app, PackLogic, so it's usable on the floor, in the field, or wherever you actually need it - not just at a desk. A few things it handles:
- Unit conversions (distance, weight, volume)
- McKee box compression strength with safety factor calculations
- Gas transmission rate (WVTR/OTR)
- Density and fill weight
- A pallet pattern generator that ranks layout options by cube utilization, with visual diagrams
It's currently live on Android, with iOS in development. Figured this crowd would get more use out of it than most, so wanted to share it here rather than just posting it cold elsewhere.
