Could be, but how to standardize folding up to a certain radius in manufacturing, that is going to be a challenge.
Also try to consider if a biaxially oriented Nylon could provide better folding abilities, it is possible that it can.
But bottom line, pouches are best laid straight than having to fold, it gives a greater risk of losing sterile barrier.

Would folding, but maintaining a minimum radius at the fold, be a possible solution?

Hi Allen,
I have experienced the same issues for a long pouch Nylon/ uncoated tyvek, it has to be folded in a wrap fashion on both ends, and we have seen pinholes on the folded area.
Although nylon is tougher, from experience we have experience pin holes/leaks at the fold, failures came up in bubble leak testing.
Maybe, folding is not that good as I am aware it is not the best suggestion nor recommendation to avoid stress to the material.
Not sure if looking for a redesign is in your options, also depends on device configurations and geometry.
Best,
Aaron T.
