Hi There,

I am working on a part which is majority of HDPE resin but Triclosan is being added to the create the finished part. The recycle symbol for HDPE is 2. So now as the Triclosan is being added, will the recycle symbol change? Is this finished HDPE part with small amount of Triclosan considered recyclable? Is there any document or website/Standards I can refer to? The Triclosan content might be around 500 - 2000 ppm.

It depends on what percentage of the total part material that substance takes up. is there any toxicity to that material ?
