  • 1.  Need feedback on CRM systems

    Hi Group-
Just a simple poll on which CRM system people have used and use that are great in value and use for small to mid-sized companies. Out of Salesforce, HubSpot and Zoho I am leaning towards Zoho for price and simplicity. I have only used customized ones in my many years in the Packaging industry and a short stint with HubSpot and would appreciate the feedback.
For those that respond can you summarize briefly why your company chose the one you have and given price, simplicity of use and performance for less than 12 users why you would recommend a particular one.....
I need to make a decision in a few days....

    Please advise...thank you!

    Joe,

I am not familiar with HubSpot or Zoho, so I cannot compare but I can tell you why our company decided to use Salesforce. We decided to go with Salesforce Essentials for the following reasons. (Note: We are also a smaller business).

    1) It is very easy to import current customer data into the software.
    2) Mobile: I have Salesforce with me wherever I go, on my iPhone. The app is very easy to use and stores all of your information in the cloud on your phone. So when your team is on the road, they are able to add notes, contacts, and other information directly to your customers profile without having to use a computer.
    3) it automatically connects to your email. So whenever a customer sends you an email, that email will show up on their profile as long as their email is in Salesforce.
    4) Customizeability: Even though essentials is very basic, you can customize almost anything to fit your company. Being able to customize our sales cycle has helped keep our sales reps on track and be very clear about where their customers are at in the sales process.
    5) Reports: Salesforce allows for you to generate reports. These reports can be very helpful for finding trends, understanding where deals are getting stalled most often, or how many touchpoints or calls, lead to an appointment on average. Any data that is on your salesforce you can use to create a custom report. Makes for great talking points during meetings.
    6) Add Ons: There are also several app "add-ons" that you can add to your Salesforce that might help your company, depending on how you would like to use your salesforce.

Overall, we have really enjoyed using Salesforce. The most important thing is having someone internally set it all up for how your company wants it. It is fairly easy to adjust and tweak the platform overtime. There have been a few times where I changed something that I thought we needed to add or take off and it took me no more than 10 minutes to do so. Lastly, they have so many resources/tutorials to use when you get started, it makes onboarding your team seamless.

Feel free to shoot me an email with any additional questions, and I will do my best to answer.

    Joe,
We migrated to Salesforce.com in 2013 and have never looked back; we just migrated to Lighting this month. We have seven users from top management (so they can see real time dashboards) to customer service (so they have the latest production approval forms and client information). With everything in the cloud, there is no maintenance and everything is accessible in variety of platforms (desktop and mobile). We have done nearly everything on our own (a couple of our folks have attended the Salesforce Dreamforce conference and local user groups to see what/how others use the platform. During our migration to Lighting we engaged a Salesforce Partner to ensure a smooth migration and to help us do a couple more things with Salesforce. I would also echo many of the same points as Nick Woerner in the other post.
    Good luck!

I appreciate all the feedback and can see why Salesforce may be attractive to many mainly mid-sized to large businesses although they are making it also compelling for small businesses. From the 2018 and 2019 consumer reviews for the value, easy of use, integration with company website marketing initiatives and internal software and 3rd party marketing platforms it seems like Zoho and Pipedrive are a better selection. It looks like the decision will come down to these two so any other feedback on comparisons on these two are welcome as I have also viewed many on Youtube and other review sites. Let me know and thanks in advance for any of those! Joe
