Bio

Undergraduate Degree in Graphic Design and Co-op experience in folding carton design and graphics led to a Patent application and Art Director's Club of Cincinnati Silver Award. Started Graduate Study at Ball State University as Graduate Assistant in the Ball Art Gallery. Got married to the love of my life in 1970. In 1971 my VW engine blew up and Maureen became pregnant and I became lead designer for a carton company in Cincinnati. After 5 good years, one of our customers, Revlon Professional Products, lured me away and I started to focus on bottles, closures, protective packaging and print integrity. Brought specifications, quality standards Computerized Bills of Material and package testing to the facility. As part of a consolidation, helped to bring packaging information to the Jacksonville, Florida facility and continued as Package Development Manager. Besides primary and secondary packaging development made kits, temporary and permanent floor displays, and similar retail units. in 1988 our family moved to North Texas and added pharmaceutical and medical devices to the portfolio. In the 24 years at Alcon Laboratories (a Nestle Company initially and later a Novartis Division) developed primary, secondary and tertiary packaging for new products and developed significant cost savings annually. In later years as Principal Engineer, worked with many problem issues for shipping, sterilization, and manufacturing.
I am retired but help with packaging development for start-up companies (Note to IRS: for free). We still live in Mansfield, Texas. Have 3 grown children. Have mostly given up golf but enjoy reading, IoPP, my Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite and volunteer work.
