Automated Packaging Systems Technician Program & BOSCH Tour and Networking Event

Date:

Wednesday, December 11, 2019

Tour WITC (Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College)'s Automated Packaging Systems Technician program that provides training for individuals who wish to obtain mechanical, electrical and automation skills as they relate to the industrial manufacturing environment. Then tour nearby Bosch Packaging Technology.

The manufacturing environment in the packaging industry is a fast-paced, technical production environment requiring skill to maintain the required output from high-speed packaging machines. The program focuses on the manufacturing industry; however, the skills students acquire will provide a foundation for entry into the dynamic field of manufacturing in positions such as maintenance technician, field service technician/engineer and machine  assembly/installer. Come explore the equipment, technology, and courses that WITC uses to train the future workforce. WITC is one of four schools with packaging programs that IoPP-MN supports. Meet Instructor Charles Christensen, Congratulate Bearman-Henningsen Honorable Mention Winners Steve Jeska and Doug Jacobsen and tour the program. There will be demonstrations by students to give us an idea of the content covered in their courses and the skills acquired.

Then tour nearby Bosch Packaging Technology, a company that started over 100 years ago with flour and puffed cereal solutions, now offers a range of packaging equipment - Wrappers, Bag Closing & Sealers, Vertical Form Fill and Seal Baggers, Carton/Tray Forming and Closing, Feeding, and Robotic Pick - Place Machines. Bosch offers flexible and affordable packaging solutions by using standardized modular components and their modular machines can be integrated to form fully automated lines.
