Hi,
I should have added to my last post, but looking at what ASTM Standards are reputable at verifying compost ability and biodegradation.

ASTM D5511-18
ASTM D5338-15 (2021)
ASTM D6866-21
ASTM D6400-19

What ASTM standards and approvals have any of you done to certify compost ability?  Any others?

I think ASTM D6866 is about measuring bio based content. The method mention that it dose not address environmental impact or product performance. So I do not think it can use it to assess compostabilty or even degradability of a product.

Adept Packaging just had a webinar on the topic this week that was pretty good. 

ASTM D6400 and D5388 were mentioned.

Other resources I noted were FTC Green Guides (probably for legal messaging), Biodegradable Products Institute and "TUV" (International) for certifications.

My company references D6868 and D6400 on out proprietary compostable bags.
